Scandinavia

Week off with the blond heads. Just coming back from a pleasant journey in Stockohlm and Helsinki. It's funny to see how the sun being high up in the sky at 4 a.m., and so much animation in the street.
However one 5 days were to short to have a good enough look at both cities, so I'll have to go back (and I guess I'll be using again the ferry!!)

Books

I received three different books, and after reading them I have to say that two of them get me through some strong emotions, and different levels.
The first one is Flødeskumsfronten from Peter H. Fogtdal (The Whipped Cream War) about how an austrian end up in charge of a small camp in Denmark.
The second one is La sombra del viento by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (The Shadow Of The Wind) about how a kid became to discover the similar life of an nearly unknow author.
The last book I received is famous: The Da vinci Code by Dan Brown. I really enjoy its reading, but it's more the kind of book one would read while traveling.

Politics and the meaning of human life

Every one has heard about what's going on in Iraq. My point is not to make any comment on the general actions undertaken, but to have a small thinking about hostages, and in particular two French journalists Georges Malbrunot and Christian Chesnot and their Syrian driver Mohammed Al Joundi.

Taken hostages the 20th of august, the French government was trying to find a solution to get them out. Then came along a French Deputy, Didier Julia, who, with the help politicians of the Ivoiry Coast (such as the president Laurent Gbagbo) looking to get back under good French opinion, tried another action to get them free. It appears that some dissensions arose between the French deputy's interest and African's ones, which led to a failure of their action, while in the meantime the French government had stop all actions relying on this private action.

How can individuals play such a dangerous game with human life for political objective, while every one will come to know about their private agenda soon or later, putting their own situation at risk?

While all the comedy was going on, it seems that the hostages were held by a different Iraqi group, whose main politic is not killing.

With the release of the Director's cut this summer, I've been able to come accross the new version of the official website. Either the DVD or the website confirms how many efforts have been put into this movie.

Why you shouldn't eat Shark

As part of our natural heritage and having been around the seas for 400 million years, sharks might have a right to live in our oceans. Because of their life cycle (late sexual maturity and few young bearing), sharks are not prepared to be hunted on high scales (it has been estimated that some 100 million sharks have been taken annually from the sea in recent years). The [...]

On March 11th, Spain has been severely hit by terrorism, and with almost 200 dead people and over 1.400 injured, it is not possible to blame any one directly for now.

While we can not say it is September 11th, we can only see similarities of terrorism impacts on people's life, and cannot stay without any feelings about what is happening.

Regarding one's personal knowledge about History, the article of Homes and Gardens, Hitler's Mountain home, rediscovered by Waldman in which you can see one of the interest the british society had for the Führer, seems to me worth reading, especially how it managed to become accessible.[http://wow.blogs.com/words/2003/10/victory_over_hi.html]

By the end of October, Blizzard realised its latest update of Diablo II exp. set: Lord of Destruction, the v1.10.

What is really good in this new version is that you can associate a e-mail address with your login, so as to be able to recover your password.
Unfortunately I forgot my password before being able to enter my e-mail address... I am restarting all from scratch, while my favourite part of the game is the hardcore, I am not able to play it now...
